About Raheel Raza
Raza bridges the gap between East and West, promoting cultural and religious diversity. A passionate advocate for
human rights, Raza is the first Muslim woman in Canada to lead mixed gender prayers.
Raza is a recipient of the City of Toronto?s Constance Hamilton award and is the first South Asian woman to
narrate a CBC documentary on "Passionate Eye".
Growing up in a culture where women were supposed to "be seen and not heard", Raza turned to writing at a young age.
Travelling throughout the Middle East, Europe, Far East and North America, Raza brings a global perspective to her
mandate. Raza's motto is "there is unity in diversity".
She has spoken at Harvard and Columbia; churches and synagogues, the private sector, the Justice Department,
School Boards and government institutions.
The world needs people who speak about building bridges of understanding without fear of political
correctness. Raheel Raza believes "there is unity in diversity". With humor and a compelling sense of justice,
she tackles the challenges of a world gone mad.
